The quick answer
When your SIM arrives in the post, follow these steps to activate it:
- Log in to the Self Care Portal (within a couple of days of signing up, you should've been sent your account number and instructions on setting up your log in)
- Hover over Mobile, click SIM activations
- Click Activate next to the SIM you're wanting to activate and follow the prompts
Please note, though a phone number will show in the portal at this time, you will be able to pick the number you'd like during the activation process.
The activation of your new number is usually complete within 5 minutes, so you can pop your Goodtel SIM in shortly after completing the steps.
The detailed steps
- Log in to the Self Care Portal (within a couple of days of signing up, you should've been sent your account number and instructions on setting up your log in)
- Hover over Mobile, click SIM activations
- Click Activate next to the SIM you're wanting to activate
- On the next page you'll see your date of birth and plan pre-filled, if there are any mistakes here, just update the fields. Then click Next
- Enter your SIM number, which is printed on the physical SIM card that you got in the mail
- On the same page, click Choose next to the Mobile Number field, and pick your new number
- Click Ok when you're happy with the number you've chosen, then click Validate Details
- On the next page, if you're happy with the details presented, click Submit Activation, then Yes, Proceed
- From here, you're good to pop your new Goodtel SIM into your phone. You'll know it's activated when you receive a text message to it letting you know it's all done!
